Our Mission & Movement
Updates from July
Working with the Franklin Square Community Organization and Southwest Partnership, BUILD continues to address illegal dumping and clean up green spaces throughout Franklin Square. About 15 leaders braved the heat and ash to clear litter, improve the appearance of shared areas, and help make the neighborhood cleaner and safer for everyone.
Residents along with CCI, The 6th Branch, the Neighborhood Design Center, and Coppin Heights Community Development Corporation met to imagine and plan the future of a new inner-block park and green space. Through collaborative discussion, they started to identify what the community needs and envisioned how the area can better serve neighbors—creating a welcoming place to connect, relax, and support a healthier, more vibrant neighborhood.
BUILD and Turnaround Tuesday are always listening! in the first of a series of listening sessions specifically about mental and behavioral health, TAT participants shared their lived experiences, current needs, and what changes they hope to see —ensuring that future efforts reflect the voices of the community.
