Power = Organized People + Organized Money
BUILD’s strength comes from its members—congregations, schools (public and private), labor unions, business associations, nonprofits, neighborhoods, and civic organizations—united by a shared commitment to community and democracy. As a broad-based, multifaith organization, BUILD brings together both religious and secular institutions to “stand for the whole,” working collectively to create meaningful change in Baltimore.
Member institutions commit to forming core teams of leaders who identify and address local issues within their communities. By collaborating with other like-minded organizations, BUILD members amplify their collective power to drive victories on both local and city-wide issues. Additionally, member institutions contribute dues, ensuring BUILD maintains a secure and independent core budget to sustain its mission.

At BUILD, we believe in relational power—that the more we are connected to each other in our communities, the more ability we have to get things done. When you become a member of BUILD, we will work alongside you to listen to the concerns of your neighbors and identify and develop leaders who will address problems by breaking them down into issues that can be acted upon.
